LSG skipper KL Rahul is batting spectacularly well this year; he is the second-highest run-scorer till now. T-20 Giant Jos Butler only precedes him in terms of Harsha Bhogle. But Rahul has a record that no one achieved till now in the league’s history. Moreover, he is the first batter to score three centuries against a particular opponent, MI.

In the 37th match, he scored a splendid century against Sharma led MI in Wankhede stadium, the home ground of MI. It was an unbeaten 103 to get his team to 168, and they won the match by 36 runs. His excellent batting that day found no trouble dealing with MI bowlers. He hammered twelve fours and four sixes in that innings.

In Brabourne, too, he knocked 103 out of 60 balls, another unbeaten gem of the innings. Again, the innings were knitted with nine boundaries and five over boundaries. This time too, they managed a win by 18 runs against Mumbai. His run rate was at a mind-blowing rise, and it was 171.66!

However, Rahul’s achievement began with the first match between LSG and MI; he scored a century then too. By this, he has entered the elite club of batters, who became able to score more than one century in a single IPL season. Kohli, Gayle, Amla, Watson, and Dhawan, the worthy club membership he got was earlier achieved.

By these three centuries, he has achieved the monumental tower of scoring four centuries in IPL. Apart from him, Warner, Watson, and Butler have touched this pick. He now has Gayle and Kohli ahead of him, and they have six and five centuries, respectively.

Indeed he has been a successful batter against MI. Since 2019, he has scored 550 runs with an average of 183.3. These runs came with three centuries and three half-centuries.

This season, however, is witnessing a tug of war between him and Butler. Butler is having an outstanding season this year; he has hammered 47 fours and 36 sixes in nine matches. In this perspective, Rahul is the second man; he is going with 38 boundaries in 10 matches.

Rahul’s success is technical perfection, whether the red cherry tests or white ball limited over matches. People have witnessed him facing English pacers in the drowsy weather, which is helpful for excessive movement. Like a true opener, he loves to find gaps instead of hammering and striking hard.

Even in the IPL, he remains consistent with his wristy flicks and sheer elegance. He says limited-overs require ‘consistency.’ India also has achieved a fabulous opener, Mr. Dependable, after Rahul Dravid and Cheteshwar Pujara. But unlike the great two, he also has the credibility to hammer when required, which makes him successful both as a test opener and a T-20 talent. D’you really remember any test opener coming up as the second-highest scorer in T-20? Is it hard to find? No?

Online fantasy cricket buffs would be having a top craze for picking him up in their teams, and none wants to drop such batters, striking at his best with utmost consistency. Fantasy cricket is a virtual platform where millions of cricket-crazy fans create their team and score points in relation to the actual matches. They can put their knowledge to use and their skills to the test with the platform. Choosing KL Rahul in the team has proven to be a good decision for fantasy cricket players.
